Interviews to real people!
We have been learning about Childhood in Different Contexts, we are reading about it in Ptrivate Peaceful and we will be writing our own stories about it. With that in mind, we have carried out a real-life research and collection of information which can ultimately inspire us for our characters in our stories.
The assignment was to interview someone from the school community (teacher-parent-relative) who spent their childhood in a very different context from our own. Think other contries, a province in the interior of Argentina or a very different time.

- Entry Point:
Childhood in different settings: stories of risk and progress.
Every context has its own challenges and forms of danger, harm, uncertainty or opportunity.
In this unit we look at writers and characters who have broken the existing mould. We learn about a wide range of authors and characters who have grown in and exposed themselves to danger, harm or uncertainty to create stories that entertain and become valuable lessons to readers. We learn about and experiment with the features of narrative writing, media and techniques to create stories of our own, reflect on the experience and find ways to communicate it to others, and consider opportunities that present themselves as a result.

The students had to participate in a forum in our Google
Classroom reflecting on the question:
"What risks has Malala run? What opportunities for
progress have these risks provided?"
